An entire generation has gone through Payson High School knowing the quality of performance and mark of excellence that his trademark "D" represents.
It's incredible how the course of one's life can change with something as simple as a telephone call.
In May 1975, the University of Utah’s Music Department received a call regarding a music faculty position at Payson High School. Mr. Dahlquist applied for the position and was hired by Principal Vernon Finch. The rest is history. Mr. Dahlquist has related on more than one occasion that upon walking into this very auditorium for the first time, it “felt like home and that feeling has never left.”
